About Me

My passion for genealogy began in 1990 when I located my father—alive—after 30 years of separation. At the time, I didn’t have a clue what I was doing, but I dove in wholeheartedly, spending countless hours in the library in Salt Lake City and exploring every resource I could find.

Like many genealogists, as the online world opened up to genealogy, I was tempted by shareable online trees and added entire branches at the click of a button. But I quickly discovered what a bad practice that was—poor documentation, missing citations, and endless inaccuracies. My family tree became bloated and unreliable.

So I started cleaning things up, carefully validating and proving each individual. It has been slow, but it transformed how I approached research. Today, accuracy, documentation, and the Genealogical Proof Standard guide everything I do. Sometimes I still wonder if I should have started over from scratch—but I’ve learned that the journey itself is part of the story.

I am now on my way to become a Board-Certified Genealogist. This website is part of that process—sharing my work, my standards, and my services. I offer research assistance for modest fees, always with diligence, detail, and personal care.
